2024 Meetings
March 11, 2024 - 11:30 am - PROGRAM - Kelly McChristy from STRS will talk on the STRS Medical and Prescription coverage. Bring all your questions regarding medical and prescription coverage to be answered by a representative from STRS. COLA will also be addressed.
May 13, 2024 - 5:30 pm - PROGRAM - Robin Rayfield, ORTA; Steve Seagrave - Membership Drive -
ORTA has developed a program to help local county groups recruit new members, both active and retired. He will be at our meeting to showcase the effort and help us get started. HCRTA will be the first to pilot the project. Come prepared to help!
July 8, 2024 - 5:30 pm - PROGRAM - Book grant winners and their families will be guests at our dinner for the grant presentations. Also, Professor Steven Bare, Defiance College- Black Cemetery Project - Professor Bare will present his research on a local black cemetery with ties with the Underground Railroad.
September 9, 2024 - 5:30 pm — PROGRAM - John Kline - Education through the eyes of John Kline - John Kline, age 87, will enlighten us with stories of his career as an educator and bring back memories of our time in the classroom.
November 11, 2024 - 11:30 am — PROGRAM - Pam Rybka, Better Business Bureau of Northwest Ohio - Senior Scamguard - Pam will address issues we face as we use our cell phones and computers and how we can avoid scams. As seniors we are often targeted by scammers.
December 16, 2024 - 11:30 am - PROGRAM - Konnie Meyer - Author, “Country Cousins” - As an author, Konnie will enlighten us with the adventure of writing a book and the challenges of publishing Country Cousins. She is a retired elementary teacher from Patrick Henry Schools. (NOTE: This is a week after our normal date due to the availability of the room we rent.)
Meal Prices $15.00
Hill's Family Restaurant is our caterer.
All menus are subject to change at the discretion of the restaurant. The menu is published in the newsletter sent to members before each meeting.
Service includes disposable plates, silverware, and napkins.
Bottled water and flavor packets will be available at all meals.
Prospective members are welcome to learn more about us by attending an event.
