Who Can Join?
Any teacher or administrator retired from public schools, state and municipal colleges and universities in Ohio may join. Any teacher or administrator retired in any other state but living in Ohio may join. Any spouse who becomes a beneficiary of STRS may join. Active teachers and others interested in education in Ohio may join as associate members. Benefits of Joining There are several benefits to becoming a member of our organization. Our members are close friends and we have a great time when we get together. Of course we also have a common interest, and we hope to further our cause. Here are a few more reasons: 1. Promotes quality health care coverage through leadership role in the Health Care Advocates (HCA) 2. Represents Ohio's retired teachers at STRS committee and board meetings 3. Represents Ohio's retired teachers in Washington, D. C. 4. Monitors and tracks all legislation affecting retired teachers 5. Affordable Auto, Home, Life, Dental, Health Care Insurance plans 6. There is no other organization that works exclusively for Ohio's Retired Teachers How Can You Join? To join we need a completed application and membership dues for the first year. HCRTA Membership:
$50 Lifetime Dues to HCRTA (Make check payable to HCRTA) Associate Membership (for spouses of retired teachers or anyone who is interested in education) $50 Lifetime Dues to HCRTA (Make check payable to HCRTA) Ohio Retirement for Teachers Association Membership: $10 (Annual Dues) - ORTA Active Teacher $40 (Annual Dues) - ORTA Retired Teacher $75 (3-Years Dues) - ORTA Retired Teacher - Discount for multi-year membership. $500 (Lifetime Dues) - ORTA (Active/Retired) (make check payable to ORTA) ORTA will accept a credit card payment for their dues.
